La Fondation Sur la pointe des pieds est née d'une passion pour les adolescents, pour la médecine ainsi que pour l'aventure et le plein air. Fondée en 1996, la fondation s'adresse aux adolescents, filles et garçons, atteints de différents types de cancer et à différents stades d'évolution de la maladie. L'aspect physique du cancer est bien sûr traité en milieu hospitalier. Toutefois, on oublie trop souvent l'aspect psychologique de cette maladie qui est aussi dévastateur que le cancer en soi, particulièrement à cette période de la vie. Established in 1996, the Foundation reaches out to adolescent girls and boys living with various types of cancer at various stages of evolution. The physical aspect of cancer is of course treated in hospital. However, we tend to forget the psychological aspect of this disease, which is just as devastating as the cancer itself, particularly at that age.
